I had moved out of State and told them that when I cancelled my last appointment. When I moved back and went to reestablish as a patient, I was rudely told I can NEVER have an appointment there again because I was discharged from the practice for being a no show for my last appointment which "I had to go to and bring my medication bottles with me". Supposedly they had sent me a letter stating that I was discharged from the practice (Highly doubtful because I have family living at the address they have on file who always forwarded me my mail). I cannot believe the lack of professionalism and rudeness I was subjected to, considering I was a patient there years, before I moved I never missed an appointment, I was always on time and always paid in full. Way to help people/!

Mental health is such an important cause to advocate for. I have always been treated with care and respect. But this incident has rattled me. Intensified my issues.

Overall, the clinic isn’t too bad, but they have some serious room for improvement conscidering the condition of the patients they are seeing. I have had pretty severe anxiety for over 15 years and my psychiatrist helped to create a balanced medication regimen. The only problem I came across was through trying to register my support animal. My psychiatrist happily and helpfully wrote me an official letter. However, the airline I am flying with requred just a bit more information (license number etc), all of which is “google-able” and public record. The airline required that it be included on the official letterhead in order to be accepted, ie: I can’t just print it off and give it to them. Less than 24 hours before my flight my psychiatrist of 18 months has refused to put her credentials on the letterhead with the rest of her letter. My feelings are deeply hurt conscidering she is the only one who knows my situation, and the information I am asking for is completely public record and knowledge. I just need it to be official/by her on the letter. I am now sitting in a Veterans Affairs hospital in the psych clinic in COMPLTE panic, shaking, crying, and at a loss attempting to get my information verified by a doctor who has never seen me or built trust with me less than 24 hours before I travel. If it is not verified by my new clinic (in a new city, mind you), I will be without my support animal for over a month.

Update: After 3 hours at the VA hospital, I was assigned a psychiatrist from their facility. Not only did he find this situation to be extremely out of the ordinary, but he had absolutely NO problem with putting his credentials (license number etc) on my new letter. Needless to say, I will not be going to Eastern Carolina Psychiatric anymore.

First pa in this office was never available. A one month appointment usually took 4 - 6 months. Meds were a constant battle to get refilled. When we switched to a different provider, the staff charged $25 for a missed appointment that was made with a message on an answering machine. Complained in person and the receptionist lied and was extremely rude. This place is a bad joke!

The therapist was very friendly and helpful. She discovered my problems and assisted me on a path to recovery, which I am looking forward to with the professionals in this group.

Everyone is very nice and very helpful!!! I will never go to another place.
